It’s amazing to me how many meanings fabric can communicate. I’ve seen children waving flags for liberation, men weeping for freedom wrapped in the colors of their country, and women stretching out banners in solidarity with places they’ve never been. There’s power in the simplicity of flags. No complicated symbology, only clear messages are printed on those linen sheets. Even at a distance, the colors, stars or stripes convey exactly what is being fought for.
